The policy national leader Heydar Aliyev pursued for the international promotion and development of the national culture is successfully continued today by the Foundation named after him. Since its establishment, Heydar Aliyev Foundation has done a lot to promote Azerbaijan’s rich culture in the world, raise its international influence.

Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva, the President of the Foundation, Goodwill Ambassador of UNESCO and ISESCO, MP, First Lady of Azerbaijan, performs a purposeful activity towards propaganda of our rich culture, literature and art. As a result of this high-level propaganda accomplished by Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Azerbaijan is known as a country integrating into the globe and safeguarding national moral values, home to tolerance, center of ancient culture.

From the day of establishment, the Foundation has been performing lots of projects in the education, science, culture, public health, social and other spheres.
 
One of the biggest merits of Heydar Aliyev Foundation in the sphere of the development of culture is publication of books, contributing to the international promotion of the Azerbaijani culture, in various languages. Working hard in the field of preservation of national culture, the Foundation republished a number of books in different languages. Also, books and albums were developed to promote on the international arena Azerbaijan’s eminent musicians, cuisine, musical instruments, ancient carpet-weaving school and other kinds of culture.

In addition, Heydar Aliyev Foundation organizes series of events in different countries to promote Azerbaijani culture.

Heydar Aliyev Foundation has accomplished huge works to organize charity actions, treatment of ill children, rehabilitation of disabled children, construction and equipment of new medical centers, repair of kindergartens and schools and supplying them with technologies to support education.

Activities the Foundation has performed so far provided a great support to social, humanitarian, educational, healthcare and other spheres in Azerbaijan.
