Gabala International Music Festival: Magnificent celebration of art

Azerbaijan, a bridge between East and West, one of the primary cultural centers in the universe, is accepted as a space where the traditions of tolerance, dialogue of civilizations are safeguarded. International music and art festivals, conferences and exhibitions held in our country particularly in the last years bring to an intercultural change. One of such international events is the international music festival organized by Heydar Aliyev Foundation in Gabala, one of the most picturesque places in Azerbaijan. Holding an international music festival in 2009 laid the foundation of a new tradition in the history of our national music culture. Expansion of international cultural relations, introduction of our rich music culture to the world community, mutual understanding between the peoples and strengthening of friendship and other features raise the importance of this festival.

The Festival, which has already become a tradition, catches big attention in the international arena as well. Taking its place among the cultural events held in the world, Gabala International Music Festival changed Azerbaijan into one of the cultural centers in the globe. This festival demonstrates the huge attention paid in our country to culture, art and music. With Gabala International Music Festival, Azerbaijan is involved in the organization of intercultural dialogue as a motive force. The Festival plays a significant role in the international promotion of unique gems of music the Azerbaijani people have created along centuries and safeguarded up to this date, wonderful works created from synthesis of national and universal music, also successful cultural, socioeconomic policy pursued in Azerbaijan. Citizens, figures of culture from other countries not having enough or correct information on our country get quite new and rich impressions of Azerbaijani culture after attending the Festival in Gabala. Also, participants of the event see development ongoing in the country and value these successes.   

The Festival makes great contributions to the protection and development of the universal cultural heritage. It once again proves that bringing East and West closer Azerbaijan contributes to the intercultural dialogue.
