Heydar Aliyev Foundation, established on May 10, 2004 to honor the memory of national leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev, reflect eternal character of his political ideology, emphasize importance of his ideology of Azerbaijanism for Azerbaijan in the globalizing world and to suggest Heydar Aliyev’s national statehood ideas to new generations, has been operating for 10 years already.

Since establishment, Heydar Aliyev Foundation has done a lot to promote Azerbaijan’s rich culture in the world, raise its international influence. President of the Foundation, Goodwill Ambassador of UNESCO and ISESCO, MP, First Lady of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva carries out a purposeful activity towards propaganda of our rich culture, literature and art. As result of this high-level propaganda accomplished by Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Azerbaijan is known as a country integrating into the globe and safeguarding national moral values, home to tolerance, center of ancient culture.

Working hard in the field of preservation of national culture, the Foundation published a number of books in different languages during 10 years such as “Qabusnamə” in Russian in 2009, Nasiraddin Tusi’s “Əxlaqi-Nasiri” in Latin script, “Xəmsə” by Nizami Ganjavi in 2011. Also, books and albums were developed to promote on the international arena Azerbaijan’s eminent musicians, cuisine, musical instruments, ancient carpet-weaving school and other kinds of culture (music album talking about composer Rafig Babayev’s activities and the “World of Uzeyir” project in 2008, collection of Azerbaijani cartoons, publication “Azerbaijani carpets” in 2011, “Cultural heritage of Azerbaijan” collection in 2012, etc.)

Heydar Aliyev Foundation functions to raise international awareness of Azerbaijan’s realities as well. Series "The true facts about Garabagh" developed by the Foundation features books “Brief information on the history of Garabagh", "Activity of Armenian terrorist organizations against Azerbaijan", "The Khojaly genocide", "Consequences of Armenian aggression against Azerbaijan" in English.

In addition, Heydar Aliyev Foundation has accomplished huge works to organize charity actions, treatment of ill children, rehabilitation of disabled children, construction and equipment of new medical centers, repair of kindergartens and schools and supplying them with technologies to support education.

Activities the Foundation has performed so far provided a great support to social, humanitarian, educational, healthcare and other spheres in Azerbaijan.
