Directing oil revenues to nonoil sector and taking numerous steps for development of this sphere in Azerbaijan have already positive results.

Huge attention was paid in the past years to the development of industry as a key direction of nonoil sector, industrialization policy implemented in the large scale, hundreds of industrial enterprises built, strong potential created. In this respect, 2013 can also be considered a very successful year. Characterized with development in both political and economic spheres, this year was successful in all spheres, specially industrial sector entered a new phase of development.

Results of the reforms carried out in the country bring to the creation of new outlooks and new works, new projects are presented to have development sustainable. The key target of these outlooks is modernization of industry and diversification of nonoil sector. Involving the existing natural and economic resources in the economic turnover, creating the new priority production spheres, strengthening the industrial potential in regions, forming the opportunities to assure the development of industry on the basis of innovations are the objectives set.

President Ilham Aliyev’s declaring 2014 the Year of Industry will contribute to the implementation of important actions for the development of such spheres as agriculture, industry, tourism and human capital.

Achievements gained in 2013 – Year of ICT will certainly be reached in 2014 – Year of Industry as well and development of industry will encourage reinforcement of economy, which will make our country stronger in the region.
