Our rich tangible and intangible heritage is the greatest contribution Azerbaijan has given to the universal heritage. Heydar Aliyev Foundation works hard towards the promotion of cultural and moral values of Azerbaijan, a bridge between the East and the West, a dialogue of civilizations, the secular assessment of its realities. From the day of establishment, the Foundation set a goal to promote rich culture of Azerbaijan and justified to properly fulfill this obligation. Demonstration of Azerbaijani culture and art in different points and culture centers worldwide is a direction of the policy the Foundation pursues.

Playing a big role in the international promotion of realities of Azerbaijan, an ancient center of culture, exhibitions and events function also as an obstacle in the appropriation of Azerbaijan’s historical heritage. The purposeful strategy aiming at the preservation of Azerbaijan’s historical and cultural monuments, musical instruments, national music, always “appropriated” by our malevolent enemies, is successfully implemented today. Books published in various languages due to organizational and financial support of the Foundation and serving the study and promotion of the history and culture of Karabakh is a part of the policy underway.

The Foundation has carried out significant works in the sphere of the promotion of environment existing in Azerbaijan dominated by tolerant model of multinational and religious common life, confirmation of religious and national tolerance. Exhibition “Azerbaijan – Home to Tolerance” organized at UNESCO, the UN and European Parliament is a good sample. Photo exhibition “Azerbaijan – Home to Tolerance” of world-famous photographer Reza Deghati organized at the Azerbaijan Culture Center in Paris on November 22 by the State Committee for Work with Religious Institutions at the initiative of Heydar Aliyev Foundation due to support of the Azerbaijani Embassy in France laid the basis to include the states with ancient cultural heritage in this list of the Foundation. Organization of such an exhibition demonstrates the peaceful life of national minorities in Azerbaijan, where century-old ethnic, religious and national tolerance is ensured. Featuring the ruling environment, stable social development of Azerbaijan, the exhibition shows the outlooks for tolerant society in our country. It also exhibits a universal history of Azerbaijan, dominated by tolerant environment, historical roots this tradition is sourced from.  

In this respect, exhibitions and events the Foundation holds governed by the fundamental cornerstones “real Azerbaijan”, “historical Azerbaijan”, “secular Azerbaijan” indicates the successful accomplishment of the mission set. The fruitful activity of the Foundation that covers about 10 years acted as a guarantor in the promotion of the Azerbaijani realities on the international scene, proved subjective opinions and perversions have no ground.
