Competent and brave President Ilham Aliyev, the most outstanding representative of the Heydar Aliyev public administration school, who is accepted by the international community as an influential politician with a modern mind, has proved with his merits to be a worthy successor of the Heydar Aliyev political line, the great leader’s rich statehood school.

Under leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, who is committed to the heritage of national leader Heydar Aliyev and successfully continues his way, Azerbaijan has become a strong, dynamically developing state able to independently meet its own needs. Political and economic reforms successfully continued by President Ilham Aliyev brought to the recognition of Azerbaijan as a regional leader as a result of the active and transparent foreign policy. Via the oil and gas export pipelines network Azerbaijan plays a leading role in the East-West energy corridor and energy security of Europe. This success is sourced from the policy able to rationally and pragmatically use the oil potential. Without energy policy of Azerbaijan purposefully pursued since 1994 the Nabucco project could not be subject to serious discussions today.    

But development of oil and gas sector is not a target to us, as the head of state mentioned too. This is a tool to develop nonoil sector, a part of the policy serving the development of human capital. And we see today the fruits of this policy. Azerbaijan is known in the world not as a petroleum country only but also as a country ruled by sound business environment, dynamic development of nonoil sector, technologic progress. Azerbaijan, which was receiver of foreign donations and humanitarian aids in the first years of independence, makes today contribution to the international humanitarian and peacekeeping operations.

Recognition of President Ilham Aliyev, who always highlights a human factor, as a reformist leader, the achievements gained in the past years thanks to his exceptional organizational skills deny his alternatives. This image has been formed by the Azerbaijani realities of 2003-2013. People always support a domestic stability, rise of the state, social prosperity. This is the factor guarantying the trust in the personality of Ilham Aliyev. We can mention without exaggeration that Azerbaijan is the most tolerant and safe state in the world today and this stability is based on an independent and quick policy, a reliable service to the nation.
