“Our contacts are always very sincere, frank and friendly nature. Just a lot of documents have been signed, which will determine the future of cooperation in many areas. A special place among the documents, of course, takes a Joint Declaration, which was signed by the Presidents and that defines the main directions of our cooperation, and also reflects the spirit and character of our relations,” said the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev in the statement to the press after the signing ceremony with President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko.

“We are very grateful to the Belarusian side for its position in the settlement of Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Belarus has always been in favor of the rule of law, international law and the implementation of decisions and resolutions of international organizations. We actively support each other in international organizations. Particularly valuable is that we always support each other and speak out in organizations where either Belarus or Azerbaijan is not a member. This is especially valuable, because if you are a member of some organization, you are present at the meeting, you can always respond to lies, defamation, and injustice. But Belarus is a member of several organizations where Azerbaijan is not involved, and we are member of some organizations, where Belarus is not involved, but we know that if there will be attempts of unfounded attack on our countries within these structures, we will always express a principled stand. This is very valuable, I think that those who attend know what I mean, and we appreciate this level of cooperation.”

The Head of State said Azerbaijan and Belarus have good history on implementation of joint projects: “Among them which occupies a special place, of course, is a factory on production of  tractors and already MAZ cars in Ganja that was set up in just a short time, only by good wishes and recommendations of presidents. ".. And in a short time, the Belarusian side has helped us in the creation of ultra-modern production, which provides food security of Azerbaijan as well. We largely reduced dependence on foreign technology, and already today it was reported, we have begun exporting manufactured machines, tractors to other countries. We today discussed in detail issues related to the cooperation in the agricultural sector, and I am happy that soon Belarusian specialists will implement a major project in the field of agriculture, where Belarus has a very good experience. "

President Ilham Aliyev said that they decided to establish trading houses of Azerbaijan and Belarus in both countries:  “A relatively new area of ​​our cooperation is the cooperation in the energy sector. Also, the question was raised by me that we need to start consultations in the field of transport cooperation, because, as you know, we are implementing major projects in the region by creating new transport corridors, and the geographical position of Azerbaijan and Belarus suggests that we should actively cooperate in this direction, using capabilities and relations with different countries, to increase the volume of traffic through the territory of our countries. I am sure this visit will serve to strengthen our cooperation and friendly relations.”
