Armenia's aggressive policy has been discussed at the 62nd NATO Parliamentary Asssembly session hosted by the Grand National Assembly of Turkey in Istanbul.

Azerbaijan is represented at the event by a delegation led by first Deputy Chairman of the Parliament, head of the Azerbaijani delegation to NATO PA Ziyafat Asgarov.

The delegation includes chairman of the parliamentary Committee on public unions and religious organizations Siyavush Novruzov, MPs Gudrat Hasanguliyev, Malahat Ibrahimgizi and Kamran Bayramov.

Siyavush Novruzov attended the meeting of the political committee with the participation of Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu.

Drawing the participants' attention to Turkey's role in establishing peace and stability in the world, preventing conflicts, the fight against terrorism and temporarily settlement of refugees and displaced persons, Mevlut Cavusoglu also responded the participants' questions.

Responding to an Armenian representative's provocative question, the Turkish Minister accused him of telling a lie.

Siyavush Novruzov expressed his opinions on the issue, as well as provided an insight into a large number of terrorist acts which Armenian terror organization ASALA committed in Azerbaijan and Turkey, and the aggressor country Armenia's groundless territorial claims against Azerbaijan.

In response to Chairman of the parliamentary committee's question about the NATO member countries' level of support to Turkey in fight against terrorism, Mevlut Cavusoglu highlighted the realities on Armenia's aggressive policy against Azerbaijan, the Khojaly genocide, and terrorist acts committed by Armenian terrorist organizations against the Turkish diplomats.

The Minister emphasized that Turkey will neither establish any relations, nor open the borders with the aggressor country unless the Armenian troops withdraw from the occupied Azerbaijani territories.

Pointing to the double standards in the world, Cavusoglu accused the European countries of failing to fulfill their obligations in respect to Turkey. He noted that Europe is not demonstrating a fair stance in fight against the forces who attempted coup d'etat on July 15 current year as well as commited terrorist acts in the country.

Saying there was no change in Turkey's Middle East policy, the Turkish FM hailed the importance of sustainable peace in the region to the whole world.

The three-day session will focus on the most pressing problems of the modern era, as well as the strengthening of cooperation and fight against terrorism.
