Azerbaijani Embassy prevents Armenian provocation in Brussels

Azerbaijan`s Embassy in Belgium, the Milli Majlis and Azerbaijan's diaspora organizations have prevented provocative actions that had to be held in Brussels with the aim of promoting the separatist regime established by Armenia in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan, spokesperson of Azerbaijan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs Hikmat Hajiyev has told.

Belgian Foreign Ministry, federal and regional legislative bodies and other relevant institutions were informed about Azerbaijan's dissatisfaction and concern over the attempt to choose Brussels as a place to promote the illegal regime.

“Although, the visit of Bako Sahakyan, who introduced himself as the "head" of the so-called regime, to Brussels was widely promoted in advance, his trip was canceled as a result of the purposeful measures. The meeting which was planned to be held at the European Parliament organized by the European MP, Armenia's and Armenian lobby's puppet Frank Engel was also canceled. A reception titled "25th anniversary of independence of Nagorno-Karabakh" planned to be held in Hay Dawn Armenian Centre with the participation of Sahakyan was also canceled.”

“In response to the protests addressed to the 'Palais des Beaux Arts' Palace and the "Tour & Taxi" center in Brussels in connection with the photo exhibition and concert distorting the history and culture of the Nagorno-Karabakh, the management of these companies officially stated that they respect the arguments of the Azerbaijani side, adding they were unaware of the essence of these events, and were not involved in the ticket sales of the events which were not open to the public. They said they only rented their properties on commercial terms,” he added.
