President Ilham Aliyev received delegation led by Russian Emergencies Minister

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has received a delegation led by Minister for Civil Defence, Emergencies and Elimination of Consequences of Natural Disasters of the Russian Federation Vladimir Puchkov.

The head of state pointed to long-term close cooperation between emergency ministries of Azerbaijan and Russia. President Ilham Aliyev said the document to be signed today was important in terms of expanding these ties. The President thanked the Russian Federation for assistance in establishing the Ministry of Emergency Situations in Azerbaijan, praising the initial consultations and the country`s help with logistics supply. The head of state said that Azerbaijan`s Ministry of Emergency Situations has effectively functioned for more than 10 years. President Ilham Aliyev highlighted the bilateral cooperation between the relevant authorities of the two countries, saying they help each other in tackling emergency situations and addressing challenges. The head of state described this as a manifestation of friendly ties and partnership, adding that this friendship has stood many tests.

Minister Vladimir Puchkov said Russia and Azerbaijan were friendly countries. Pointing to good cooperation prospects, Vladimir Puchkov highlighted long-term mutual activity of the ministries of emergency situations of Russia and Azerbaijan, their work to increase preparedness of administrative bodies and special units and conduct trainings for specialists, as well as the application of advanced technologies. Vladimir Puchkov said another two-year plan to be signed today will create good opportunities for defining the goals, setting tasks, and appointing responsible officials on behalf of both Russia and Azerbaijan. He said that the mutual activity was aimed at paving the way for safety of the population in Russia and Azerbaijan, development of economy and social infrastructure, and application of new forms and methods of reducing threats and preventing disasters.
