President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has viewed conditions created at IT STEP Academy of the newly renovated Baku Vocational Lyceum No. 9 in Binagadi district, Baku.
Minister of Education Mikayil Jabbarov informed the head of state that the building of the Baku Vocational Lyceum No. 9, which occupies an area of more than 1400 square metres, has been overhauled this year. The new IT STEP Academy will function in the building from the new academic year.
IT STEP Academy was founded in 1998 and has 44 branches in 17 countries around the world. The academy trains specialists on three areas: Computer graphics and design, software development and network technologies and system administration. The teaching process is about 1900 academic hours and it takes two and a half years. IT STEP graduates along with the diploma are given certificates of Cisco Microsoft and Autodesk companies.
Some 2100 persons from the age of 8 to 55 can get education at the academy in Baku. Currently 210 people applied to study at the academy, and this figure is expected to reach 500 persons by the end of the year.
Seventeen computer rooms and four specialized laboratories of robot technique, art, graphic design and photo studios will function here.
