“The Armenian armed units violated ceasefire despite the agreement, and once again committed a provocation on the Azerbaijan-Armenia state border,” the Defense Ministry said in a statement.

“Located in Armenia’s Yekheknadzor region, the Armenian armed forces fired on the positions of the Azerbaijani armed forces located in Shahbuz district in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic on May 12 at 10:30.”

“Serviceman of the Azerbaijani armed forces, soldier Yusif Guluzade received minor wounds as a result of the provocation. He received necessary medical aid, and doctors say his life is not under threat.”

The Azerbaijani armed units silenced the Armenian forces after retaliation.

“Criminal military-political regime of Armenia bears full responsibility for escalation of tension on the line of contact,” the Ministry said.
