As earlier reported, a parliamentary delegation led by Bahar Muradova, Vice-Speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament and head of the Azerbaijani delegation to the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly is on a visit to Vienna to attend the 15th winter session of the OSCE PA.
In her speech at the Standing Committee meeting on February 25, Bahar Muradova recalled the visit of the OSCE PA delegation to Azerbaijan, estimating this as an important step in development of mutual cooperation and dialogue between Azerbaijan the Organization. She expressed gratitude to the head of delegation, Vice-President of OSCE Parliamentary Assembly George Tsereteli for detailed report on the results of visit.
“Azerbaijan as an equal member of the OSCE actively takes part and will further continue this at the work of Organization and its structures” she said, noting the country’s participation in the OSCE bases on the general principles accepted in the international relations. “Activity of the Organization and its structures should seriously be carried out on the mandate of these structures confirmed by the member states”, Muradova stressed.
Vice-Speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament expressed hope the visit of the OSCE PA newly appointed Special Representative for South Caucasus Christian Vigen to the region and his fruitful activity would intensify the peace initiatives of the Minsk Group. She welcomed the initiative of Germany as 2016 OSCE Chairperson-in-Office to hold a seminar to increase the efforts for settlement of the protracted conflicts in the OSCE space.
