Baku has hosted another meeting of the Organizational Committee of the seventh Global Forum of UN Alliance of Civilizations.

A delegation of the UN Alliance of Civilizations has also attended the meeting.

Addressing the event, Minister of Culture and Tourism Abulfas Garayev spoke about the preparatory works carried out holding the Forum.

The Minister said President Ilham Aliyev signed the relevant orders on high level hosting the Forum.

The meeting participants applauded President Ilham Aliyev's relevant order to declare 2016 the Year of Multiculturalism in Azerbaijan, saying it increases the importance of the 7th Global Forum.

150 youth from around the world were selected to participate in the Youth Event at the 7th UNAOC Global Forum in Baku.

This will, in turn, support the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). As such, the mission of UNAOC is in line with the 2030 Development Agenda, and in particular goal 16, which clearly states the need to promote peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, provide access to justice for all and build effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels.
