Azerbaijani Defense Minister Zakir Hasanov has met Turkish National Defense Minister Ismet Yilmaz in Istanbul to discuss prospects for military cooperation between the two countries.

The two praised the development of military cooperation. They said strategic partnership between the two countries is based on friendship and fraternity between Azerbaijan and Turkey.

Highlighting the signing of the final Protocol reflecting the results of the 8th meeting of Azerbaijan-Turkey high-level military dialogue meeting the ministers discussed the ways of developing ties in military, military-technical and military education areas. They also explored opportunities for holding joint trainings.
