Azerbaijan`s Parliamentary delegation attends TurkPA`s 6th plenary session in Kazakhstan

A delegation of Azerbaijan`s Parliament led by Speaker Ogtay Asadov has attended a meeting of the Council of Assembly of TurkPA and the organization`s 6th plenary session.

The delegation included committee chairman of the Parliament Ahliman Amiraslanov, MPs Chingiz Ganizade, Ilham Aliyev, Sadagat Valiyeva, Sevinj Huseynova, head of the Parliament`s Apparatus Safa Mirzayev and other officials.

Chairman of the Kazakh Majilis Kabibulla Dzhakupov, Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh of Kyrgyzstan Asylbek Zheenbekov, Chairman of the Grand National Assembly Ismet Kahraman and Speaker of the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan Ogtay Asadov addressed the session.

Secretary General of TURKSOY Dusen Kaseinov highlighted the celebration of 1000th anniversary of Yusuf Balasuqunlu, and praised bilateral relations of parliamentarians of Turkic speaking countries.

The session also adopted financial budget for 2016 and Astana declaration.

The 7th plenary session will be held Kyrgyzstan in 2016.

Ogtay Asadov, as part of the visit, has met chairman of the Jogorku Kenesh (Parliament) of Kyrgyzstan, Asilbek Jeenbekov.

The sides highlighted ancient historical roots of friendly relations between the two countries.

They exchanged views on current state and developing prospects of inter-parliamentary relations, experience and information exchange in the field of legislation, boosting cooperation in the economic, trade, agricultural, energy, logistic areas.

Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic-speaking Countries (TURKPA) was established on November 21, 2008, according to the Agreement signed by the Heads of parliaments of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Republic of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, and the Republic of Turkey in the “Dolmabakhche Saray” located in Istanbul city, Republic of Turkey.
