CIS Council of Heads of Government convenes in Dushanbe

The Tajik capital of Dushanbe has hosted a meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of Government. Azerbaijan`s delegation at the event was led by first Deputy Prime Minister Yagub Eyyubov.

The council discussed ways of developing economic cooperation among CIS member states, including the implementation of an agreement on free trade zone, activities of specialized bodies in economy, measures for the implementation of the third stage of the CIS Economic Development Strategy, competition on manufacture, telecommunication, energy and securities markets.

They also considered documents regulating partnership in the field of physical culture and sports, international youth cooperation, education, medical and social assistance to veterans, prevention and emergency response and security.

The council decided to hold its next gathering in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, next May.
