Jean-Francois Mancel: Azerbaijan's election practice has considerably improved

Azerbaijan`s election practice has considerably improved. The country will hold the 5th parliamentary elections after regaining its independence. This is a great chance for a young, democratic country. Each parliamentary election improves election practice strengthening the pluralism. The same will be observed in upcoming elections. I hope observers will be far from double standards, member of the National Assembly of France, president of the Friends of Azerbaijan Association Jean-Francois Mancel has told “secki-2015.az” website.

“The circles, which attempt to carry out smear campaign against Azerbaijan, forget that sometimes their own parliamentarism practice is not quite enough. Those who do it have never faced the difficulties and pressures Azerbaijan undergone,” he added.

The member of the French National Assembly said that as in modern democracies, the executive power of Azerbaijan plays an important role in determination of the country`s political course.

“So, the parliament should be a place for discussions and settlement of significant issues, maintaining freedom in the background of intensive international conditions, restoring the control over the Nagorno-Karabakh and developing international relations,” he added.
