Azerbaijan’s First Lady, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva has today met President of the University of Strasbourg Alain Beretz.

Head of the working group on Azerbaijan-France interparliamentary relations Mehriban Aliyeva praised the bilateral relations between the two countries, particularly in political, economic and humanitarian areas.

The First Lady also spoke of the projects jointly carried out between the two countries in the fields of education, culture and science. “All this contributes to the strengthening of friendly relations between Azerbaijan and France”.

Mehriban Aliyeva noted that a French high school would open in Azerbaijan on the initiative of the Azerbaijani and French presidents, adding “concrete steps have already been taken on his project”.

President of the University of Strasbourg Alain Beretz expressed confidence that his visit to Azerbaijan would contribute to the implementation of the French high school project.

Mr. Beretz highlighted the importance of opening a French high school in Azerbaijan.
