Zardab has become the next destination for the Baku 2015 first European Games Journey of the Flame.
Torchbearers were welcomed by thousands of local residents in the Flag Square. At the European Games gate the flame was handed to youth activist Bakhtiyar Nuraliyev.
Ten torchbearers then started their 3.5km long route and carried the flame into Heydar Aliyev Park to the sound of wild applause.
World and European karate champion Narmin Jamalzade lit a special commemorative lamp which will remain lit and on display in Zardab until the Closing Ceremony of the Games.
The event featured demonstration of a footage highlighting a ceremony to light the flame of Baku 2015 first European Games in Ateshgah temple.
The flame then continued its journey to the next destination, Tartar.
