CoE Parliamentary Assembly is set to draft a report on Nagorno-Karabakh
The issue of Nagorno-Karabakh is a real concern for Europe, the President of Parliamentary Assembly of Council of Europe Anne Brasseur told journalists on Moday in Yerevan.
“Karabakh must be a real concern for all of us, because it is about citizens, which are part of our European family of the 47 member countries of CoE. And the only way in which solution can be found is, of course, through dialogue. Violence can never be an answer,” she said.
To make a modest contribution to the conflict settlement, the PACE is set to draft a report on Nagorno-Karabakh. That paper is not going to interfere in the OSCE Minsk Group process, and is intended to suggest rather than to instruct, she explained.
In order for the report to be well balanced, Armenian delegation in PACE is strongly encouraged to participate, she added.
During an official visit to Armenia on 13-15 April, Ms Brasseur is due to meet the Armenian president, prime minister, foreign minister and speaker of the National Assembly.
