Criminal case launched against former Speaker of Slovak National Council visited Azerbaijani territories under occupation illegally

František Mikloško, former Speaker of the Slovak National Council is accused of 2 articles of the criminal code of the Republic of Azerbaijan

A criminal case has been launched on Slovakian citizen, illegally visited Azerbaijani territories under occupation.

Slovakian citizen František Mikloško, whose name is in the list of foreign nationals illegally visited the occupied territories of Azerbaijan is charged with articles # 281.2 (Public appeals to infringement of territorial integrity of the Azerbaijan Republic, as well as distribution of materials of such contents are committed repeatedly or by group of persons) and 318.2 (Crossing of protected frontier of the Azerbaijan Republic without established documents or outside of check point of frontier committed on preliminary arrangement by group of persons or organized group)


František Mikloško, known for his radical thoughts, have been visited occupied territories continually and participated as an observer at so called elections in the occupied territories.

At a press conference dated 25 may, 2010, in order to propagandize illegal regime at the international level, he released statements such as so-called “parliamentary elections are a kind of referendum on independence”, “the future of Karabakh is with Armenia in the confederation”


In his next speeches he made statements on Nagorno Karabakh against territorial integrity of Azerbaijan such as “It should be recognized as an independent state”, “for us they are independent state”

He is also known as the author of a statement calling for hostility on religious grounds.

František Mikloško became member of the Slovak National Council from Christian Democratic Movement. He was former Speaker of the Slovak National Council in 1990-1992.

He claims that resigned from politics since 2010.
