Armenia doesn’t want peace, tries to maintain status quo in conflict – President Aliyev

“Armenia failed act sincerely during the meetings organized by the leaders of the co-chair countries last year”

The conflict can not be resolved as Armenia doesn’t want peace and is trying to maintain the status quo unchanged.

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev made the remarks on Friday during the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers dedicated to the outcomes of socio-economic development in the first quarter of 2015 and the tasks lying ahead.

During the meetings organized by the leaders of the co-chair countries last year, Armenia failed to act sincerely, didn’t show interest in settlement of the conflict and continued to keep the Azerbaijani territories under occupation, President Aliyev noted.

The head of state reiterated the conflict must be settled within the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and the norms of international law, and the world community needs to avoid double standards.
