There are no Great Patriotic War veterans in the republic’s two districts
According to the latest statistics, 1291 veterans of the Great Patriotic War have survived in Azerbaijan.
There are no Great Patriotic War veterans in the country’s two districts. These are Beylagan and Khojavand districts (excluding the Armenian people living in the occupied areas of the district).
There are two veterans in Khizi, two in Khojaly and three in Shirvan.
Gadabay district ranks in the first place for the number of Great Patriotic War veterans. There are 55 surviving veterans of the Great Patriotic War in Gadabay. According to the number of surviving veterans, Gadabay is followed by Shamkir (43 veterans), Ganja (30 veterans), Agstafa (28 veterans) and Sumgait (28 veterans).
There are 66 Great Patriotic War veterans in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
Currently, 312 veterans of the Great Patriotic War survived in Baku.
There are 58 Great Patriotic War veterans in the capital’s Khatai, 44 in Nasimi,
44 in Yasamal, 42 in Narimanov, 31 in Sabunchu, 28 in Nizami, 25 in Surakhani, 25 in Binagadi, 9 in Sabail and 6 in Garadagh districts.
