Representative of the British Parliament’s Conservative Party, member of the UK-Azerbaijan interparliamentary friendship group Bob Blackman has called on his counterparts with petition 805 (Early day Motion) and launched a signature collection campaign on the 23rd anniversary of the Khojaly tragedy.
According to the European Azerbaijani Society (TEAS), the petition was published on the Biritsh Parliament’s website (http://www.parliament.uk/business/publications/business-papers/commons/early-day-motions/edm-detail1/?session=2014-15&edmnumber=805).
The petition was signed by 5 MPs.
The petition is to commemorate 613 civilians killed in an attack carried out on Khojaly town by the Armenian armed forces on 26 February 1992 and extend condolences to the Azerbaijani people, and to call on the British Parliament to help the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict be peacefully settled in compliance with UN Security Council resolutions 822, 874, and 884
