President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received a delegation led by Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs at the United States Department of State Victoria Nuland on Feb.17.
During the meeting, the parties expressed their satisfaction with the development of bilateral relations between the two countries in a variety of fields, and hailed Azerbaijan-US cooperation.
The sides discussed a number of issues related to energy, security, combating terrorism, prospects for cooperation on Afghanistan, human rights, democratic institutions and conducting dialogue in this sphere.
The parties also exchanged views over the settlement of the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, elimination of tension in the region, continuation of negotiations, and the ensuring of peace and stability.
