Azerbaijan beforehand warned co-chairs of any Armenian provocations, Foreign Ministry says

“In a letter sent to the OSCE MG co-chairs, Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry stated that if Armenian military air means enter Azerbaijan’s airspace, it will be perceived as an aggression against Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity and appropriate actions will be taken”

Azerbaijan beforehand warned the co-chairs of any provocative actions of Armenia, acting spokesman for Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry Hikmet Hajiyev told.

He said in a letter sent to the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs in 2012, Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry stated that if Armenian military air means enter Azerbaijan’s airspace, it will be perceived as an aggression against Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity and appropriate actions will be taken.

“Azerbaijan has assigned the Minsk Group as a mediator for the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict within its territorial integrity and continues participating in negotiations on the basis of these principles. The Foreign Ministry noted in its statement dated November 12 that Francois Hollande called on the parties to start working on a Big Peace Treaty and Azerbaijan expressed its readiness for this process. But Armenia is still impeding the settlement of the conflict. We support a peaceful resolution of the conflict, but no efforts are made by Armenia in this regard. Azerbaijan declared its airspace closed in 1993, informing the ICAO about this. We have clearly expressed our positions and sent the 12 November statement to all international organizations and their representations in our country,” he said.
