Former UN Secretary-General receives Nizami Ganjavi award

Former UN Secretary General Boutros Boutros-Ghali received the Nizami Ganjavi award, the State Committee for Work with the Diaspora stated.

A meeting between the 6th UN Secretary-General Boutros Boutros-Ghali and the executive director of the International Center of Nizami Ganjavi, Rovshan Murodov took place in the central headquarters of YUNESKO in Paris, the report states. The meeting was held within the framework of the project implemented in connection with the second anniversary of the organization, and an honorary member of the Center received the Nizami Ganjavi award.

III Global Forum of corporative society to be held in 2015 in Baku was discussed at the meeting with the participation of the former UN Secretary-General as well as the exchange of views on the meeting which will take place in Andorra from the 4th till the 7th of September in connection with the Forum.

Ghali emphasized the importance of the meeting organized on the initiative of the International Center of Nizami Ganjavi and the Club de Madrid, and by the support of the State Committee for Work with the Diaspora. He said that discussions on the topic of "Restoring Confidence in Europe" is an important step today against the background of conflict and intense political processes in Europe and the terrorist wave observed in the Muslim world.

Holding of the meeting in Andorra is planned with the participation of management and members of the International Center of Nizami Ganjavi and the Club de Madrid.

Bill Clinton, Vaira Vike-Freiberga and others are recipients of the Nizami Ganjavi award.
