Azerbaijan not to allow third countries to harm its relations with neighbors

Azerbaijan will not allow third countries to harm its relations with neighbors, spokesman for the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry Elman Abdullayev said at a briefing Aug. 28.

He was commenting on some media outlets' information about an Israeli drone downed over Iran's territory, which supposedly was launched from the territory of Azerbaijan.

"While creating good relations with neighboring countries, Baku follows these principles," he said.

Azerbaijani Defense Ministry dismisses some media reports that the Israeli-made Hermes-450 drone downed in Iran was allegedly launched from Azerbaijan's territory, head of the ministry's press service, Colonel Vagif Dargahli told Aug. 27.
He said such provocative information is aimed at spoiling Azerbaijan's relations with its neighbors.

Iranian servicemen said on Aug. 23 that the Israeli spy drone "Hermes-450" was downed in the airspace of the country. They added that the drone was launched to monitor the uranium enrichment plant in Natanz.

The Israeli side stressed that despite this is Israeli drone, the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan, Georgia and Kazakhstan are armed with it. Some foreign media outlets reported that this drone was launched from the territory of Azerbaijan.
