Azerbaijani defense minister receives Oklahoma National Guard’s commander

Azerbaijani Defense Minister, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov received a delegation led by the Oklahoma National Guard Commander, Myles Deering, the Defense Ministry of Azerbaijan said on July 16.
Minister Hasanov informed the Oklahoma delegation on the situation in the region, the continuation of Armenia's aggressive policy, recently increasing ceasefire violation in the front zone, and provocations by the Armenian armed units.
The minister also expressed satisfaction with the results achieved by Azerbaijan and the U.S. in various fields of cooperation, expansion of mutual ties between the Azerbaijani armed forces and the Oklahoma National Guard.
Colonel General Hasanov also noted the importance of further development of these relations.
Myles Deering, for his part, expressed his appreciation for the Azerbaijani armed forces' contribution in the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in Afghanistan.
He noted that the fruitful military cooperation that has been continuing between the parties for many years is a good example to follow, and stressed that he supports the expansion of this cooperation.
Afterwards an exchange of views on bilateral cooperation was held.

The meeting was attended by the U.S. Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Richard Morningstar.
