Armenia's current leadership committed the Khojaly genocide against Azerbaijanis, Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Artur Rasizade said on July 7 at a meeting with Georgian Parliamentary Speaker, David Usupashvili.
He said that as a result of the conflict, 20 percent of Azerbaijani territories were occupied, and over one million Azerbaijanis became refugees and IDPs.
The PM stressed that Armenia's occupation policy poses a threat to the entire region, and at the same time, Armenia itself suffers from this policy.
Rasizade said that the Azerbaijani-Georgian relations have deep roots, and emphasized that the relations between the two countries' presidents are at a high level.
He noted that Azerbaijan and Georgia jointly implement major regional economic projects, and the construction of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway is being completed.
Usupashvili, for his part, said Georgia is interested in Azerbaijan's economic and political experience. He expressed confidence that the economic relations between the two countries will further develop and said that stability is the most important factor for this.
