An attempt of smuggling 34,000 AZN worth medicines to Azerbaijan has been prevented on the country's border with Iran.
An operation was held in the service area of Goytepe Border Detachment of Azerbaijani State Border Service (SBS).
SBS said boxes with drugs were found in the area located near the Avash village of Azerbaijan's Yardimli District, which is supervised by the border detachment.
The boxes were found 200 meters away from the Azerbaijani-Iranian border among the trees.
SBS also said measures are currently underway to find the persons attempting to illegally smuggle medicines through Azerbaijan's border and to bring them to criminal liability.
