The sixth meeting of the intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Switzerland will take place in Bern on May 26, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Economy and Industry said on May 21.
A delegation led by co-chairman of the intergovernmental commission, Minister of Economy and Industry Shahin Mustafayev from the Azerbaijani side will participate in a meeting, according to the report.
The current state of economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Switzerland, the work following the fifth meeting of the commission and cooperation expansion prospects will be discussed as part of the meeting.
The Azerbaijani-Swiss business forum with participation of business circles of both countries will be organized as part of the delegation's visit to Bern.
The trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Switzerland decreased by 2.2 times during the year, amounting to $47.82 million in January-April 2014. This decrease is explained by a sharp decrease in imports of Swiss goods to Azerbaijan, namely by 3.2 times.
