This title is a successful sign of the activity accomplished, pragmatic policy directed into the future, realization of “the principle of serving the people worthily”. This position proves once again that the rich and multilateral work of the President is followed with special interest and properly assessed not inside the country only, but on the international scene as well.   

10-year activity of President Ilham Aliyev and successful reforms carried out under his leadership in all spheres in the country, the achievements gained need no proof. The comparison of 2003 with present day opens a window to the successes obtained year by year, the quick and pragmatic political line pursued. Azerbaijan’s successes gained over the past 10 years in both domestic and foreign policy are countless. Every achievement is focused on serving the people in a worthy manner, providing a high-level life standard to the nation. These successes are sourced from the statehood and leadership skills of the Azerbaijani President. Also, devotion to the people, the policy conducted according to the interests of the people brought a national love and support to the President.  

Just during the presidency of Ilham Aliyev Azerbaijan became a regional leader, took its place in the international community. Also, the country became a reliable partner, a necessary collaborator for the world states. 

As a result of the modern reforms applied in economy under leadership of Ilham Aliyev, the global economic crisis passed by Azerbaijan. A purposeful strategy has been implemented in the past 10 years towards elimination of unemployment and poverty in the country. Successful reforms are implemented in the energy and nonoil sectors, in particular in the spheres of education, healthcare, ICT, agriculture. Launching its first telecommunication satellite into orbit early this year, Azerbaijan became a member of the space family.

Azerbaijan, where representatives of different religions and nations live in peace and mutual understanding, is accepted as a sample of tolerance.

Like in domestic policy, Azerbaijan has gained lots of achievements in foreign policy too. Azerbaijan, an active member of international and regional organizations, justified this image with being elected a member to the UN Security Council. Possessing ancient and rich history and culture, Azerbaijan traditionally hosts series of influential forums, conferences, symposiums, contests on the high level.  

Large-scale construction and improvement works underway in Azerbaijan, state programmes aiming at the socioeconomic development of regions have only one goal – assuring the worthy life standard of citizens, solving the social problems. As a result of the mentioned “national strategy”, the President formed the image of the people’s president and was accepted as an absolute leader with the national support.
